SAFY Staff Gather to Honor Foster Families who Brighten Children's Lives
Blue Ribbon Ceremony planned for May 4th at 2:30 p.m. at Corporate Headquarters
All children deserve a safe, happy life – including the 463,000 American children
currently in foster care. Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth (SAFY), a
leading therapeutic foster care and adoption agency, will celebrate the loving, caring
adults who make a positive difference in the lives of children in foster care with a blue
ribbon ceremony at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, May 4th at its corporate headquarters at
10100 Elida Road, Delphos.
"Our foster parents are truly healing the hearts and lives of children," says Dru Whitaker, Chief Executive Officer, SAFY. "Foster Care Awareness Month provides the opportunity to
thank these wonderful families who provide homes and love to children who need
them."People who become foster parents do so out of love and compassion," Whitaker says. "It’s important we recognize Foster Care
Awareness Month not only for the great things our foster parents are doing, but to
educate and provide foster children with hope and knowledge that we as a community
care about what happens to them. We hope to inspire and engage many more
individuals to take action in support of these children and their families. There are so
many ways a person can positively affect the life of a child in foster care."
SAFY is a leading not-for-profit foster care and adoption agency headquartered
in Delphos, Ohio. Each year, SAFY serves over 4,300 difficult-to-place children in eight
states. SAFY utilizes trained treatment foster families to provide these youth with a
caring, stable environment. To learn more about becoming a foster parent, contact
SAFY at (419) 695-8010.
